Real Wedding: Bon Voyage!

Vivien and Jon are eloping–with their best friends and family in tow! Inspired by a dream getaway to romantic France, the newlyweds infused the nation’s colors of red, white, and blue into the reception, as well as keeping essential elements of a trip abroad, such as suitcases full of vintage character, penpal letters, great food, and even boarding passes/passports! So come along, Catie Ronquillo Photography invites you to say “Bon voyage!” and join them on this travel-themed wedding, complete with a vintage flair.

The guests knew exactly what to expect in this adventure after reading their “wedding passport” save the date cards, tucked inside a hand-lined snap close envelope. After the fantastic save the date cards, Southern Fried Paper truly swept the guests of their feet for the wedding invitations, which were boarding passes encased in its red airmail envelope. The snail mail look worked to uphold the vintage theme as well as incorporating the romance of a hand-written letter.

Instead of one grand wedding cake, Sugar Bee Sweets created five adorable cakes with different styles that stayed cohesive through the red, white, and blue color theme. The wedding cakes with flowers complemented the red centerpieces, which stylized the settings with an extra vintage look that was inherent in the slightly dried flowers. Kate Foley Designs even added an unorthodox touch of anemones to create a bouquet that fell in line with the French inspired cakes, the snail mail letters, and the beat-up old suitcases.

The bride donned an short lace wedding dress that completed her groom’s vintage look of a pinstripe jacket and an adorable red bowtie. And let’s not forget the beautiful birdcage veil, pop of color in the turquoise shoe, and of course, the pearls that are the symbol of elegance.
