Howard and Monique’s love story is a rather odd tale. It started fairly well with the two meeting in ninth grade during lunchtime—so far so good. But when Monique asked Howard out, he said no. The next eight years, they tiptoed around each other, until their mutual love of music helped them tiptoe toward each other instead. Three months after asking her out, he asked her to marry him. Then, three weeks shy of their one-year anniversary, they tied the knot! Justine Russo Photography helped recapture the happy couple’s awkward beginnings, filled with books, shy smiles, and stolen kisses.
But music served as more than a mere excuse for the two to hang out again. While recording songs together in the tiny closet of a studio, Howard found the inspiration to ask Monique for her hand in a special, offbeat way. Instead of hiding the ring in a cake or another type of dessert, Howard hid the ring under Monique’s microphone! Since music accompanied this love story from the very beginning, it was only right that Justine Russo Photography paid tribute to music in the photo shoot.
