Rebecca Yale Portraits had their hands full for this family photo shoot with a squirmy, restless baby. But instead of working against baby J’s instincts, the photographer chose a calm winter day to let him loose in the beautiful Madison Square Park in New York City. His great sense of adventure took him all through the park, keeping things interesting with the constantly changing backdrop, and he even cracked a few smiles while watching squirrels and dogs run around the park. It was a ingenious way to turn a distracted kid into a camera-ready, smiling baby. See what a great product can come of a happy, relaxed subject!

Now come the real, belly-aching laughs in the photo shoot. Baby J wasn’t always ready for his Kodak moment, and he especially became shy when it came to picture time with mom and dad. But then, Rebecca Yale Portraits deployed the one, fool-proof way to coax a big grin out of baby J: his love of being swung high into the air. He completely forgot about the camera once his mom and dad lifted him! It’s good to remember that parents know all the tricks to get their baby to flash a smile.

Thanks to Rebecca Yale Portraits for sharing their method for creating the perfect setting for a camera-ready baby!
