Whether it’s a favorite place, a hobby, or a favorite pet, including something unique in any photo session can help to personalize the shoot and make your photographs even more memorable. This is especially true of maternity sessions– just like wedding and engagement photos, maternity sessions should capture all of the excitement and love of pregnancy but stay true to Mom and Dad’s personality! We love how these three shoots from Jenelle Kappe Photography, Randi Marie Photography, and Jessica Giblin Photography each include something unique to tell the couple’s story.
In this first submission from Jenelle Kappe Photography, Kara and Ryan went outside for a cheery New Jersey photo session. We love that Ryan brought along his guitar, and that their dogs were included in the shoot. Including these details lets the couple’s personalities shine through and reveals who they are as a family!
Fido made an appearance in this second shoot as well, a more intimate submission from Randi Marie Photography. Randi kept this photoshoot simple and airy, and let the loveliness of her subject shine through! Annalise and her husband Brian are expecting a baby boy, and even her adoring bulldog already loves the new baby.
Finally, Jessica Giblin Photography shared with us this effervescent maternity session with parents-to-be Bre and Nathan. Jessica had documented the couple’s wedding, and returned to capture the months before the birth of baby Clementine! She commissioned a good friend (Stephanie from Stephanie J Designs) to create a banner for their session, and they headed to a lovely barn in a grassy field surrounded by lemon trees. The best part? Jessica writes: “I couldn’t have been happier when Bre notified me after the session that this session was turning point in the way she felt about herself as an expectant mama in full bloom.”
