The best weddings will always have both laughter and tears, and Sunee and Spencer’s wedding in Oxon Hill, Maryland had plenty of each! The very talented Ever After Visuals photographed the event, and took the bridal party to the ultra-modern Pose Nightclub at the Gaylord National Hotel for portraits before the event. Sunee looked stunning in her lace gown, handmade by a family friend in Thailand, while Spencer looked equally dapper in his dark suit and red tie. Dark blue bridesmaid dresses and pops of red– like Sunee’s fun patent-leather shoes– worked perfectly with the venue for these fun photos. The couple’s joy was clearly infectious; the bridal party couldn’t stop laughing!
Laughter turned to joyful tears as the couple arrived at their ceremony at the Oxon Hill Manor, a beautiful estate overlooking the Potomac River. The grounds of the manor include formal English gardens, rose bushes, and a reflecting pond, while the interior space features hardwood floors, fireplaces, and crystal chandeliers. Of course, Spencer did not seem to see much other than his beautiful bride– both had to wipe their eyes before exchanging their hand-written vows.
We think Spencer’s vows captured the emotion of the wedding well: “I offer my devotion, admiration and passion so that our union will strengthen and we may share the intrinsic happiness that exists between us. I also offer my ability to lift heavy objects and to reach high places.” Even in their vows, this couple couldn’t help but mix humor with their devotion and joy!
Sunee and Spencer were all smiles again at the reception. Shades of blue from the ceremony carried through and were mixed with silver and champagne, like in the silky table linens. The reception also featured culinary delights, including an ice blue cake from Kendall Cakes and scrumptious fare from Occasions Caterers and the Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center. Plus, the couple shared their good fortune with family and friends with adorable fortune cookie favors!
Sunee and Spencer’s special day was filled with beautiful details, but most beautiful of all was their apparent love for their families, friends, and each other. Congratulations to the couple, and thanks to Ever After Visuals for sharing their day with us!
